Project B01: Cross-Organizational Design of View Types and V-SUM Meta-Models
This project addresses the challenge of maintaining consistency and confidentiality in distributed CPS development using the V-SUM approach, which combines synthetic (rule-based) and projective (on-demand) consistency strategies. V-SUMs integrate multiple sub-models from different organizations, requiring customized views that respect intellectual property while ensuring correctness. The project investigates how to define view types, connect them to the V-SUM meta-model, and enforce access control, transaction management, and consistency preservation rules (CPRs) across heterogeneous sub-models. It proposes domain-specific languages (DSLs) and methods to specify view frameworks, associate roles and rights, and guarantee global consistency invariants without violating confidentiality. The research tackles fundamental questions on structuring V-SUM information for secure, consistent, and collaborative model integration, ensuring scalability and practical usability in real-world CPS projects.
